General Kreedz Climbing Update
Hello all and welcome!

Site News
The site is undergoing some changes due to the fine work of DaFox and SexieWASD. The visual aspects are coming soon and presently broken functions are being fixed and the system itself is getting 16 updates so bear with us if the site goes down periodically
- Polls properly work now.
- "who is online" is now working properly.

Notable mention is that Kangaroo has been working over a nice interview with Raptor and will be our article/interview/media generator.

Code News
eDark is getting pretty close for some live testing with the new version of KCAC. eMTi has made some beautiful backgrounds and other graphics for it and thanks also to Gangien for his own support to the KCAC.

Map News
Tons of bugs have been killed in 20 prior maps including the evil starttimer button 2-second delay of many Beta3 maps. 2 minimaps are being released as speedmaps, kz_beginnerblock and kz_deathrow. You already know it but 5 new maps were created for this version making it a total of 34 fixed, added or new maps!

Plugin News
The Cup plugin written by petsku is in public betatesting right now and xtreme is creating some documents for easy understanding. Our plugin is a bit different than the one for CS1.6 and also adds more cool features and extends the amount of players to 32 in one cup if a server supports it. It also holds a bit more stats in the ranking system. The points system is also much more detailed and because of this the competition for the top5 will be more fun. Check the details in the extended news.

Please be aware that until Beta4.2 is released the CUP Plugin will stay in public beta testing and will be often updated. Any help from people who want to assist in us testing should get MIRC and load up a random Quakenet server and join #kzmod ( /j #kzmod). From there you can take place in live testing by simply typing !add if one has been started. Don't be frustrated when suddenly something doesn't work right and the cup is canceled.

Kreedz Climbing 4.2 Progress Update
Hello all and welcome to Kreedz Climbing blah blah :)

EDIT: Exteneded news with the map review of Beta4.2 maps and their additions and changes plus the 4.2changelog(WIP) has been added as well as 2 screens of 3 of the new maps.

I would like to openly apologize to Millet for my behavior on one specific day of our lives. I stepped past the friendship we had to date and this was a terrible mistake on my behalf. However the punishment for this mistake, I have learned from it.

Faker has joined hands with me and is helping do things with the site. He is presently over screenshots and map uploads of custom maps to the downloads section.

I have rearranged the forum and added new ones. Faker has gone a bit further by cleaning up a bit in map presentation and release. I made an official longjumps map along with a cool new easy jump map taken from a newly redesign of kz_bhop_hangman.

Certain maps have been taken from the custom sector and have been made official because of the fact that they were made by DEV team members: kz_surf_protraining, kz_date, kz_testlab, kz_debod, kz_maze_wickedgarden. This may again change to include also kz_beginnerblock as well since it is already in an official map called kz_cmfrb made by Ovi.

I will be leaving for 2 weeks on vacation starting tomorrow to fullfill my final childhood dream. I will tour northern Italy doing fire shows in the streets with my girlfriend.

That's a wrap on the present update. changes to the site will become a regular thing for a while so pay attention! Keep up the good work guys and thanks a lot for your time and energy.

The Developers of Kreedz Climbing are in need of help. Our team is small and the expectations of our players are getting higher. They are presently high enough to make this new post possible. Since few read the news, let's see what happens.

Kreedz Climbing needs the following helpers:

Raptor has recently fixed the fade-in on demo recording bug and is working hard at getting rid the biggest issues first. For programming of of Beta4.2, total emphasis was laid on fix and support as many things people asked for as possible without forcing a dll change that requires another dll switch for 4.1 or 4.0 demos.

In other Beta4.2 Developement News:
FragGyver (fragmania) is nearly finished with a very beautiful nature map of easy difficulty and the same applies to Solid (stranded, date, kashgar) who is making an easy version out of his temple map. I myself have also created 3 maps and have changed or created ez versions for many others. On this update we specifically have worked towards providing many maps for new players to the game.

Beta4.2 update
In light of a deep conversation in the forums about the popularity of the mod, I am doing my best to take into consideration the needs/wants as far as I can. I have made new Easy versions of 6 of my maps: kz_cathedral_ez, kz_fortress_ez, kz_cookbook_ez, kz_silo_ez (this map also got a retexture), kz_man_madness2's EZ course is now actually easy along with kz_surf_protraining's EZ block.

I have also removed the Touchpoints from kz_crate_delight and kz_cityswingers to the joy of many.

What I want before releasing these new easy versions is that people let me know their opinions about easy maps for new players made out of harder maps that already exist. My reason for doing this is to quickly provide some relief to rage-quitters or people who simply find the mods maps too difficult and quit shortly after downloading. It is planned that we will have an official server where only easy maps will run. That means we need a lot of them. If you are presently making a map thats hard....please coincide with this and make it easy or at least make an ez version of it. I'll never ask of this again.

I personally feel that when this is achieved, we will have more interested players. With easy, I mean that every jump could be taken basicly straight on somehow, but still built like a map thats hard with all it's twists and turns keeping it interesting. Think of them as adventures. Places where the high level players will be working out the coolest shortcuts while the middle levels are trying to beat their best times because its fast and fun, and the new players are not frustrated to death. I find with speaking to faker, that easy maps are the only type of map that plays well for all levels.

I also do not mean to make ez versions out of every map nor do I ask of any of you or intend myself to make all my future maps totally easy. We just, at this point in time, need a large set of easy maps suddenly. We (mappers) must support all levels of the gameplay for any discipline you choose to work with, to allow for more players to enjoy the social game we have created for you.

Kreedz Climbing 4.2 Progress Update
Hello all!

I just heard bad news and shortly thereafter some good news. I also have some other news for you today. Heres' a teaser:



Bad News: It seems that Valve plans to kill standup bhops, doubleduck and count jumps in CS1.6, a 10 year old game, and want to even imply a speed penatly to ducking.

Good News: Raptor told me today that he figured out how to allow us to use double-ducks just like in 1.6! Along with standups finally working with kzmod thanks to Raptor, this should make things a bit more interesting around here hopefully.

Two demos on kz_trippin_nfslongjumpsez and nfslongjumpshrd were respectively denied because they both broke the 4th course discipline rule:
4. Bunnyhopping the actual longjumps on a timed longjump skill course, unless the course is meant for bunnyhopping.


Site update: OddYsseus, the head admin, has updated the flag selection here on kzmod as you may have noticed. Aside from the flags being updated visually, the selection has been expanded from about 15 to 50, so hopefully no one will have to have the unknown flag next to their name anymore.
