what you are looking for is the "KZmod Custom Mappack" in the downloads section. It doesn't include the six recently released maps, however.

Good to hear Petroll. And yes, the forums are rather quiet.

Think of it like a big family around here. We don't usually communicate through the forum, rather we talk to each other directly most of the time.

Kreedz Climbing Player Manual

In this manual, we present all functions of the game, including game types, tools, awards, and special commands. Any information you might need that is not in this, can be found on the [link] website in the FAQ, or the Forum, or even directly in the Chat Box. The keyboard settings in this document are referred to by the default key, then in parentheses, the options menu label for that key, and the console command the key uses. Example:
Default Key (Options Menu label, console command)
Left mouse button (Primary Attack, +attack)

Making a Listen Server multiplayer ready:
To make your own online Listen Server that others can join simply open a map, then the console and type these 2 commands:

sv_lan 0
heartbeat

Do not allow more than 4 players until you know your computer can handle more than 4 players. We enjoy to say our playability on anyones Listen server is unbeaten. You can play on a Listen Server with a pretty high ping and still have a smooth gaming atmosphere. You never have to play alone anymore!

General Name Shortcuts/Jargon:

Checkpointer = He who uses checkpoints
Nochecker = He who doesn't use checkpoints
Touchpoints = Map "gates"
KCPM = Kreedz Climbing Player Manual
SIS Menu = Special Items Shop Menu
OND = Overhead Name Display
CCD = Customize Climber Dialog
MP3P = mp3 player
FAQ = Frequently never looked at

The Main Menu (lobby):

Find Servers – This opens the Server search screen.
Create Game – Creates a listen server with a map of your choice and settings.
Tutorial – Starts the tutorial map that will teach you how to master gameplay.
Customize Climber – Allows you to customize your own look and feel.
Options – Keyboard, graphic, sound, spraylogo etc.
Quit – Exits the game after a “yes or no” prompt.

The Main Menu (in-game):
Only showing additions while in-game.

Resume Game - Continue playing.
Disconnect - Disconnects from the server.
Player List - Opens the list of players on the server.
mp3 - opens the mp3 player to choose music to listen to. (MP3P)

Special Features:

Customize Climber Dialog (CCD)
The Customize Climber dialog allows you to adjust or change the following features:

- Climber Gear Model and skin (if available)
- Player model and skin (if available)
- Choose crosshair type or disable it
- Choose the color code of your Overhead Name Display (OND)
- Write your Custom Title (SIS Item)

It also includes a button for saving the changes made. The OND can be shut off using kz_hud_name 0.

Mp3 Player (MP3P)
The MP3P allows you to choose songs to listen to while playing. In your kzmod/sound folder there is a folder named mp3. Place songs in here and they will appear in the player list. An example song written and performed by Tim "SoUlFaThEr" Lippert and Stefan Kammerer has been provided for testing. "A Wild Night".

You can also access the MP3P by typing mp3 into the console.

Spraylogos
Create a 256x256 or 512x512 .tga of anything you like and place it into your kzmod/resources folder. Open the game and go to Options.
You will see a button named "Import Spray" Click this and browse to your kzmod/resources folder and choose your .tga. Done.
Pressing "r" (impulse201) will spray the logo for you and the spray logos do support Alpha channel for transparency.

Disciplines, Techniques and Map Types:

There are many disciplines in Kreedz Climbing, from Jumping, Surfing, and Bunnyhopping, to Bungees, Long Jumps, and Flare shooting, and even a bit of vehicle racing. Each discipline has its own special techniques such as with the Bungee and its elastic bounce-launch technique, to name only one. As for the map types, each discipline is a map type. We also have special things such as Mix maps that offer courses with many disciplines, or the 2man cooperation map type where 2 players must boost each other and figure out puzzles to complete a single course.
For more in depth information on each of the disciplines, techniques and map types, please visit the Kreedz Climbing FAQ.

Map Naming Conventions
Since we have so many disciplines we attempt to name the maps as clear as possible so that a player knows what type of map he is about to play. Our examples of this are as follows:

kz_mapname Basic jump map, normal settings
kz_surf_mapname Surfmap, most likely loading surf settings.
kz_surfcrazy Surfmap, most likely loading surf settings
kz_quadrathon a map where multiple skills are need to complete 1 run. Will most likely run normal settings or use the dominant disciplines special mode.
kz_bhop_ravine Bunnyhop map, most likely loading bhop settings
kz_rope_mapname Bungee map, normal settings
kz_bungeehop Bungee map, normal settings
kz_lj_indutrial Longjump map, normal settings
kz_nfs_longjumps_ez Longjump map, normal settings
kz_mix_sickness multiple routes with different single disciplines or combinations of them, most likely normal settings or the dominant disciplines settings
kz_aim_flareworld A map full of flare puzzles and ranges, Normal settings
kz_race_mapname A map for racing, normal settings

Kreedz Climbing Gear/Tools:

The Ice Axe + Replacements
The Ice Axe is used to break objects that might obstruct the course such as vent covers, boxes, and rock and ice walls. Despite common assumption, it cannot be used to latch on to blocks or otherwise assist in "climbing".
- It can be swung by pressing the left mouse button (Primary Attack, +attack).
Keyboard select: 1 = Ice Axe (will still swing if holstered to keep your view clean)

The Art Tool (AT-MLSv1 [Multirayed Laser Sprayer])
The Art Tool can be used to draw designs on surfaces by creating a steady line of “paint” where the user aims. It appears as a Rocket Launcher with a steady beam.
- It can fired with the left mouse button (Primary Attack, +attack).
- You can change colors with the right mouse button (Secondary Attack, +attack2). Look at the Art Tool to see which color is presently selected.
Keyboard select: 2 = Art Tool (cannot be used if holstered)

NOTE: Some acquired Special Items cannot be used while holding the Art Tool.

The Bungee (B-1 Elasticitus Chordifluxus)
The Bungee is an elastic "rope" that the player can shoot and attach to a surface and swing, or bounce and launch. There are two forms of Bungee use in the game; Free Bungee and Limited Bungee. With the Free Bungee you have maximum length, bounce, and the ability to shoot it at any surface, including the sky! The Limited Bungee can only be shot at specific Bungee Targets and will most likely have length and bounce restrictions. Bungee Targets can also be reduced to one player at a time.
Here is a detailed list of commands for its use:
- The right mouse button (Secondary Attack, +attack2) is used to shoot the rope. Hold this and fall past a target, it will automatically shoot when the crosshair meets a Ropetarget.
- E (Use items, +use) is used for releasing the rope from the attached point.
- By pressing Space (Jump, +jump), you can draw in slack, making the Bungee shorter. Holding Space will increase the upward pull and assists in getting boosts from bouncing if pressed and held "on the way back up".
- By pressing Duck/Crouch (Duck, +duck), you can release more slack, making the Bungee longer, which is good to do "while you are falling" so as to increase the amount of bounce possible because your fall will be longer and the fall is progressively faster. Press and hold Duck to steadily release the slack.

NOTE: The Bungee cannot be used while holding the Art Tool, holstered or not. You must have the Ice Axe selected.

Flares (F-1 Litemus Upicus Distancious)
Primary Usage: Flares are able to set off events if shot at specifically marked targets. As of Beta4 there are maps where you must fire the Flare at targets to continue through the map as they open up passages or give abilities. There are also a few singleplayer target ranges in kz_aim_flareworld for practicing.
Secondary Usage:
You can shoot a Flare to show someone your position. Fire this up in the air or use it to show someone else where they should be jumping(this can also be done with the Art Tool).
Console command: flare (bindable)

Gear/Tool Switching and Holstering
The Ice Axe and Art Tool can be switched during game play by pressing their corresponding keys, 1 for the Ice Axe, and 2 for the Art Tool. The tools can be holstered.
- Console commands for holstering: holster, unholster, and toggletool
(all bindable)

Special Functions:

Checkpoints
Checkpoints are used to save positions in a map that you can teleport back to in case you fall.
-A checkpoint can be saved by pressing P (Set Checkpoint, +checkpoint).
- You can teleport back to the last saved checkpoint by pressing Enter (Return to Checkpoint, +teleport).
- You can also teleport to your previous checkpoint by pressing Backspace (Return to Second Checkpoint, stuck). Saying /stuck in the chat or typing stuck in your console will both also perform this function.

Pausing
Pressing F8 (Pause game, kz_pause) will stop the current timer and disable movement. The timer can only be paused if the player is on the ground. Executing the pause function again will restore game play and enable movement.

Respawning
Respawning is for starting over completely from the beginning as if you had just joined the server. For other special respawn methods, see the Awards section of this Manual.
- Press F2 to execute a simple respawn.

Spectator Mode
You can watch other players in the Eye Mode or fly through the map as you like in Free Roam Mode.
- Press F1 to get into Spectator Mode
- Press F3 to change Spectator Mode between Eye and Free.
- Press F2 to Respawn in the game.

To cycle through players you will simply have to press your left mouse button. The name of the player you spectate will appear on the screen.

"WASD" Visual Helpers
These will appear only in Spectator mode and are there to help new players learn the movement easier from others. The helpers can also be turned off (see convars below). While spectating someone you will see the following in the center surrounding the crosshair:
Arrows left, right, down, up for the direction pressed, of course.
D D for Duck.
J J for Jump.

WASD can also be seen in demos to assist in the learning process.

Kreedz Climbing Reward Systems:

Those individuals who complete a course in a KZMOD map are a special breed and should be honored. We have thought up a few ways to do just that.

Medals
NEW PARAMETERS FOR BETA4
Medals are issued to players who complete courses in the game under various circumstances. There are 2 overall classifications of courses that are key in the issuing of these Medals.
- ELITE Courses are usually the main course in a map and give out a prize and the award of Elite status to those who solve it without using Checkpoints.
- NON-ELITE Courses tend to be shorter courses and do not give out prizes(Unlimited Bungee) or awards.

Platinum:
Issued to the FIRST player to NOCHECK an ELITE course ONLY.
Gold:
Issued to NOCHECK players after the Platinum medal on an ELITE course ONLY.
Silver:
Issued to the FIRST player to CHECKPOINT an ELITE course.
Issued to NOCHECK players on NON-ELITE courses.
Bronze:
Issued to CHECKPOINT players after the Silver medal on an ELITE course.
Issued to CHECKPOINT players on NON-ELITE courses.

While spectating a player in Eye mode, you can see how many medals other players have earned! You can see them by looking to the right and left of his/her Climb Timer. To see your own medals we have a console command: mymedals. The message will appear in the game chat informing you how many medals you have earned of each type.

Awards
Presently we offer one, very hard to earn, Award; Elite Status. Elite Status is gained by successfully completing an "ELITE giving" course without using teleports (equivalent to a Gold Medal). You still receive Elite Status if you SET checkpoints during your run, but will not receive it if you teleport to any of them! Messages are displayed to the entire server about your skills and, of course, your Elite course time as well. This award leaves a trial of blue sprites behind you as you move and a blue ELITE above your name.

Prizes
Sometimes completing course will give you a prize. This prize is usually given on the main course of the map and can be given, whether a player has made Elite status or not. The prize is the Free Bungee (see Tools for more info on the Free Bungee). This Prize can allow you to reach places in a map you would normally not reach!

All Prizes, Awards are cleared upon map change. Plugins in the future will surely help support the ability to keep these things if you are on the server for a longer period of time.

IMPORTANT:
If you want to Respawn at the beginning of the map AND keep your Free Bungee and Elite Status, you will first have to press F1 to join Spectator Mode, and then press F2 for Respawn. If you start a Climb Timer at this point, you will keep your Elite status, but of course, lose the Free Bungee. The only way to lose both Award and Prize is to ONLY press F2, so be careful!!! Remember: F1, then F2 to keep your stuff!

The Special Items Shop (SIS Menu)

Players can buy "Special Items" with earned medals by completing courses in a variety of ways. Upon receiving a medal you unlock options in the SIS Menu.
There are at least 2 Special Items for each medal; Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. You cannot buy upwards, but you can buy downwards.
A Platinum medal can buy anything; Gold can buy Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes etc. Each Special Item has a cost of 1 medal in its class.
The highest medal is chosen first if you have multiple types of medals, so choose the best thing you want first.

Here is the present list of items.

Bronze:
-Moon boots- Players with Moon boots activated have low gravity.
-Time Bomb- The player turns into a walking Time bomb, complete with countdown and explosions.
Silver:
-Painkillers- A strong painkiller does a job on your view angle on life for a while.
-Soccer ball- Let the games begin! Swing your axe to kick this ball around. Respawn it if you lose it.
Gold:
-Burning Feet- You must be HOT if you completed a Main Course without checkpoints. Your feet are on fire!
-Cloak Mode- Feel free to spy on your buddies as an invisible and totally silent Cloaked Climber.
Platinum:
-Custom Message- Create your own custom title or message under your overhead display name.
-Psychic Anti-Gravity-; Allow you to use a bit more of your brain power to defy gravity.

IMPORTANT:
Starting Climb Timers will stop your presently activated prizes if they have movement alterations but will allow you to use them again after you stop the timer by respawning (F2). If the map changes, you keep your prizes and your medals total remains.
At this point any spent medals are considered spent and you own the prizes you bought with them. The buy menu will show you what you have left to buy if at all possible.
You lose both medals and prizes ONLY if you disconnect from a server and lose the slot you were in...otherwise you will also come back to the server with everything in your slot.

There are 2 client convars and 1 command to be aware of for the shop.
kz_shop command opens the SIS Menu (bindable)
kz_shop_auto_show (0/1) (default 1) Sets whether or not the SIS Menu shows automatically after a medal is issued.
kz_shop_auto_show_time xX (default 3) is the delay on the menu appearance after a medal is issued.

World Records and Demos:

Demos
To show the world your best Climb Time on any map, you can record a demo. While in-game, simply open the console any type this command: record demonamehere.
IE: record kz_cathedral_sf_run1
To stop recording the demo, simply type the word stop in the console. The console will not be seen in the demo.
To watch the demo there are 2 options; type in the console playdemo kz_cathedral_sf_run1 and then also demoui or shift+F2 to get a little dialog that allows you to adjust the way you see the demo. You can go forward or backwards for example to find a certain spot in it. The demo itself can be found in your steam/steamapps/sourcemods/kzmod folder with a file ending of “ .dem “. You can send in the demo for a World Record attempt or use it as a part of a movie. For more information on how to make movies you’re your demos, please visit the forums on [link].

World Records Demo Recording
If you feel fast enough your demo could be a World Record on the official list on [link]. Those who wish to do so, must run one single program before starting the game. Steam may be on, but the Kreedz Climbing Anti Cheat (KCAC) must be run before the game is started and it will open the game for you. Upon first time use, it will ask you to select a key to bind which will be used to generate the KCAC file. Once the game is open, you may choose your map and record as many demos as it takes to make your best run. Once you type the command “stop” into the console, pause a moment and then press your chosen KCAC key. The KCAC will generate a file that can be found in your steam/steamapps/sourcemods/kzmod folder with a file ending of “demoname.kcac“. To even be considered for a World Record you must submit both of these files in one single .rar file. For more information on demo recording rules and naming conventions, please read the Record Rules on [link]. Scripts, plugins, “turbo joysticks”, or slow-motion modifiers will not be allowed during World Record demo recordings and are easily detected by the KCAC. Those who cheat will simply be banned from the World Records list and the main website that holds it. We would love to see fair game play for all!

World Records Demo Submissions
To submit a World Record attempt, simply visit the website and click “Submit Record” and you will be taken to a page to upload your demo and KCAC file to our Demo server. We will attempt to check demo submissions once a week, if given, and announce new World Records.

Kreedz Climbing's Toplist server plug-in:

Each server that has the Toplist plugin running will be saving the best times on every course of every map for every server! To get to see this list while In-game, just type the following into the console or chat:

top

or bind this to a special key. This command opens up a window that is linked directly to the website where all the top times are kept for viewing. You can choose any map that has records on it and see the best times there on any course.

You can also view the list at any time right here: Kreedz Climbing Toplist Records

Extra Help with Binds:

Binding keys without the Options Menu
All binded keys are stored in a configuration file. To bind keys manually into the file, locate your SteamApps/SourceMods/kzmod/cfg folder and open the config.cfg file. You will see a list of commands similar to: bind "e" "+use". To add your own bind, simply type in this format the key and function you want to bind on a new line.
bind "key" "function" (with the "")
For example, if you wanted to bind your F key to turn on the flashlight, you would type:
bind "F" "impulse 100" (with the "")
(impulse 100 being the console command to turn on the flashlight.)

You can also bind keys using the console. Type the bind command explained above into the console, and it will write it to your configuration file. If your configuration file is set to “read only” then nothing will get saved if you bind in the console of the game. The same applies to the Options menu Keyboard settings.

One last way to insure specific binds always work no matter what you do, is to open the autoexec.cfg that was supplied with KC Beta3, and place all your special binds in there. This way, every time you open a listen server or go online, all of your autoexec commands are read and executed.

IMPORTANT:
If your configuration file(config.cfg) is NOT “read only”, each time you go into the Options menu to change keyboard settings, and click apply, Steam will completely reset your configuration file including the changes you made by hand. If you had never written in the configuration file, this is no problem, but if you had written your own binds, they will be erased by the engine. Be careful!

Good luck and have fun with Kreedz Climbing Beta4, a Half-Life2 Mod. “Gamer vs. Gravity”
